Tasting Notes: The Vinha do Contador Grand Jury Red 2013 is deeply expressive, with an intense nose of black cherry, ripe plum, and blackberry compote, complemented by notes of dried herbs, cedar, and dark chocolate. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and concentrated, delivering layers of dark fruit, fig, and cassis, intertwined with hints of espresso, tobacco, and sweet spice. The tannins are firm yet velvety, balanced by fresh acidity, leading to a long, complex finish with lingering notes of mineral and savory spice. This is a mature, elegant Portuguese red showing both power and finesse.
