Richebourg Grand Cru 2017
Intro: The 2017 Richebourg from Domaine Jean Grivot is a red Burgundy grand cru of exceptional standing: refined yet powerfully built, with superb depth, minerality and aromatic complexity. One reviewer said it was “one of the most elegant Richebourgs that I have tasted” with a “show stopping, persistent bouquet of intense blackberry, sous bois and crushed stone. The vineyard parcel for this wine at Grivot is only about 0.32 ha in size. For the third vintage in a row, that small parcel (with vines ranging from 60-80 years old) produced what critics called the “best wine at the domaine” in that respective year.
