Gourt de Mautens 2015

Intro: This 2015 vintage from Domaine Gourt de Mautens is a bold and concentrated Southern Rhône red blend crafted under biodynamic principles. It blends old vine Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre and a selection of rare Rhône varieties for depth, character and cellaring potential. The wine shows intense black fruit, spice, minerality and a serious structure built for ageing. The name “Gourt de Mautens” refers to a local dialect phrase meaning “where the water flows when it storms”. Reflecting the property’s steep slopes and clay marl soils which hold moisture even in dry years.

Tasting Notes: The 2015 Gourt de Mautens shows a deep garnet ruby hue with aromas of red and black berries, floral hints, leather, and earthy notes. Rich and dense on the palate, with elegant tannins, a mineral backbone, and excellent complexity. The finish is long, muscular yet refined, built for 15–20 years of ageing
