Have some fun, blind taste your friends or surprise them with a less known wine. Our wines come from flagship wineries of Portugal, personally curated a process that took our founders 12 months!
1) Bacalhoa Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 - Vivino Rating 4.2
Bacalhoa is the name of the palace where the vines for this wine is grown. When we tried this wine, we immediately knew it was coming with us, it has been described as rivaling a more expensive left bank Bordeaux by our wine community in Singapore. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon (90%), Merlot (10%) and aged for 12 months in French Allier Oak Barrels. This wine has a deep ruby colour which is semi opaque. Maintaining its classical style, Quinta da Bacalhoa 2016 presents red fruit aromas, combined with wood and spice nuances. In the mouth sensations of red fruits are highlighted and combined with soft tannins. It has a fresh, slightly mineral, elegant and very complex finish.
2) Quinta do Javali Reserva 2016 – Vivino Rating 4.3
The Quinta do Javali reserve is true Douro red that is bursting with flavour. A wonderful gastronomic wine that has great complexity and depth. Made from Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional & Tinto Cao and aged for 18 months in new and old French Oak barrels. Deep red. Nose dominated by notes of ripe red fruit with some hints of strawberry jam and raspberry, combined with nuances of spice. So well integrated, there are notes of toasted barrels of high quality, giving a greedy character to wine, with aromas of vanilla and brioche. In the mouth, it confirms the fruity aromas in harmony with this structure but elegant.
3) Ravasqueira Touriga Franca 2019 - Vivino Rating 4.1
Closed, dark, opaque, and dense in colour. Nose with an exuberant aromatic freshness. Serious, with notes of black fruits, broom, black olive, and mineral. In the test, all of the aromatic characteristics are felt, with a long attack and volume. Spicy and growing tannins. It opens up and reveals itself with time in the glass, increasing its intensity.
4) Tapada Do Chaves Reserva 2015 Vivino Rating 4.4
Tapada do Chaves is a historic producer of very small quantities, destined to an elite of consumers of rare fine wines. Made from Aragonez, Trincadeira & Alicante Bouschet and aged for 12 months in Portuguese & French Oak barrels. Deep garnet in colour, with an intense and full aroma, dominated by forest fruit and black fruit, with light smoky hints. Well-structured on the palate, with strong tannins, full-bodied and firm acidity. Its intense fruitiness appears alongside spicy and smooth balsamic sensations. Extremely complex, fruity and very elegant persistent finish.
5) Quinta Dos Aciprestes Reserva 2019 Vivino Rating 4.2
The Reserva from Quinta dos Aciprestes was born in 2003 with the ambition to summon the very best that the estate can offer. Made from Touriga Nacional & Touriga Franca that has been aged for 12 Months in French Oak Barriques. The wine reveals an astonishing violet colour and very complex aromas of plums, red and black fruit perfectly integrated with nuances of vanilla and floral notes. On the palate, it shows its huge dimension of red and black berry flavours, which combine splendidly with its round tannins, offering an everlasting and pleasant finish.
6) Ravasqueira Nero d'avola 2013 vivino 4.0
A serious Nero d'avolia single grape varietal wine. This wine is complex with 12 months in oak and is great with a charcuterie and cheeseboard.Vivid and intense red color. Complex nose, closed and need of decanting. Light notes of eucalyptus, assorted peppers, floral and intense notes of cherry. Full and elegant in tasting. High density of fine tannins balanced with mineral acidity, meaty and slightly vegetal.
