Welcome to Portugal 6 mix has been put together for those wanting to dip their taste buds into Portugal and discover what it is that makes wines from this country so special! We have chose 2 whites and 3 reds from classic regions of Portugal.
1) Tesouro da Se Private Selection White 2018 - vivino 3.9
A bright citrus coloured wine. On the nose it is Very elegant, showing delicate notes of linden and orange blossom, combined with soft expressions of white pulp fruit and a slight nuance of fine vanilla. In the mouth it is harmonious and complex, with a good expression of structuring acidity, elegant minerality and exquisite persistence.
2) Porca de Murca Reserva White 2020 -vivino na
Porca de Murça is Douro’s leading brand, having celebrated 93 years of existence in 2021, and becoming one of Portugal’s oldest wine brands. The brand originated from a folktale from the small village of Vila de Murça, in the Douro Valley. An elegant wine, with enormous aromatic complexity of fruit and floral notes, combined with the unique minerality of the Douro. Balanced, with fruit flavours and an excellent acidity which results in a long, ever lasting finish.
3) Javali Reserva Red 2016 - vivino 4.3
The Quinta do Javali reserve is true Douro red that is bursting with flavour. A wonderful gastronomic wine that has great complexity and depth. Deep red. Nose dominated by notes of ripe red fruit with some hints of strawberry jam and raspberry, combined with nuances of spice. So well integrated, there are notes of toasted barrels of high quality, giving a greedy character to wine, with aromas of vanilla and brioche. In the mouth, it confirms the fruity aromas in harmony with this structure but elegant. Aged for 18 months in French Oak.
4) Bacalhoa Alicante Bouschet Red 2018 - vivino 3.9
Very deep and deep color, aromas of red fruits, such as ripe strawberry, with notes of menthol and spices, structured, lively, complex and long in the mouth. It has great guarding potential.
5) Tesouro da Se Private Selection Red 2017 - vivino 3.9
A deep Ruby coloured wine with violet shadows. On the nose it reveals a very fine aroma, with nuances of vanilla, dark chocolate and spices. In the mouth it is complex, intense and velvety. With good structure and highly persistent finish. Aged for 12 months in French Oak
6) Rocim Amphora Red 2020 - vivino 3.9
Herdade do Rocim is located in the heart of the Alentejo and is one of the most respected wineries in the region. The vineyards are organic and true to the unique terroir using native grapes to the region. Clear and shinny color. In the nose it shows black cherry, raspberry, plum and some vegetable notes. Creamy, but fresh, it reveals a salty and textural minerality. Fresh finish.
