Cotes du Rhone Rouge Reserve 2014
Intro: The 2014 “Grande Réserve” from Château des Tours delivers a refined, highly regarded example of a Côtes du Rhône by a top estate. Under the stewardship of Emmanuel Reynaud (also proprietor of Château Rayas), the domaine emphasises old vine Grenache, late harvest, low yields and terroir driven wines. The 2014 vintage is praised for elegance, finesse and depth of fruit. Although labelled as Côtes du Rhône (regional appellation), Château des Tours draws from terroirs and vineyard practices comparable to those of the much admired Château Rayas, making its “Grande Réserve” an exceptional value for the quality level.

Tasting Notes: The 2014 Côtes du Rhône Rouge Réserve, Château des Tours shows a deep ruby color with developing garnet hues. The nose reveals red and dark berries, rose petal, saffron, pepper, garrigue, and subtle leather notes. Medium to full bodied, it’s generous yet balanced, with plush Grenache fruit, Syrah structure, and a Cinsault lift. Silky tannins, bright acidity, and mineral undertones lead to a long, elegant finish. Now beautifully drinkable yet still evolving
