Intro: Since Roman occupation over 2,000 years ago in the Alentejo the practice of making wines in claypots has been practiced. This ancient technique has been preserved for millenia and Cartuxa is a leader and innovator in this method. The red is fully biological.

Aging: After slow fermentation in old clay pots, the wine rested in full maceration in the pots until mid-November, by which time it was naturally filtered and submitted to a few months of aging in the pots.
Tasting Notes: A deep garnet coloured wine. On the nose dark fruit and smoke on the nose.
Dark core of black cherry, black berry, mulberry, smoke and earth. Firm wine with smooth tannins.
