Asili Barbaresco 2018

Intro: The 2018 Carlo Giacosa Barbaresco Asili is a single-vineyard Nebbiolo from the Asili cru in Barbaresco, adjacent to the more famous Montestefano plot of Gaja. The wine is known for its elegance and expressive character. It has a light colour, and is somehow reminescent og Burgundy Pino Noir more than Nebbiolo, thanks to his expressive nose and soft tannins.

The palate is well-structured with fine, ripe tannins, lively acidity, and flavors of strawberry compote, orange zest, and underbrush, leading to a long, savory finish. It's considered a soft and graceful wine, with some reviewers noting its similarity to a high-quality Burgundy Pinot Noir.
