Special bundle of our favourite Portuguese wines that match the profile a Chardonnay. Have some fun, blind taste your friends or surprise them with a less known wine. Our wines come from flagship wineries of Portugal, personally curated a process that took our founders 11 months!
1) Casa de Santar White 2020 - vivino 3.8
A classic Dão. A white full of elegance, born to be eternal and timeless, like all classics. With an impressive capacity for evolution in the bottle, this wine is a white for meals, but also a white for sharing. A traditional wine for unforgettable moments. Made from Encruzado, Bical, Cerceal Branco. Citrine-colored wine with notes of citrus and tropical fruits. In the mouth it is crisp, fruity, elegant and with a persistent finish.
2) Quinta Do Javali PGE White 2020 - vivino 4.4
PGE stands for Post Graduate Enology a name given by Antonio as this was effectively his ‘masters’ project. Only 700 bottles produced of this boutique ltd edition wine. Made from Viosinho & Arinto and aged for 12 months with battonage in a spherical concrete vat made from vineyard soil. Light yellow colour with a greenish tinges. An attractive, challenging nose, beginning with a fruity component dominated by citrus fruits, which continues with an expressive aroma of fennel. The palette of aromas continues to reveal itself with notes of aniseed, brioche, butter, and finally the excellent greedy notes of toasted barrel. In the mouth, the bâtonnage the wine underwent improves its excellent structure. This is a wine which will age well in the bottle.
3) Casa do Santar Reserva White 2018 - vivino 4.2
The Casa de Santar Reserva branco is made from the wonderful blend of Encruzado, Bical & Cerceal Branco. 50% of the wine is staged for 6 months in French oak Barriques. On the nose it is fresh with complex notes of citrus & tropical fruits. In the mouth it is full of fruit with a long and complex finish.
4) Beira Interior White 2017 - vivino 4.1
For this wine old vineyards of Síria and Fonte Cal varieties were used, a region characterized by citric aromas and by a unique minerality and freshness in some of the harshest conditions in Portugal (Freezing winters and dry hot summers). Aged for 9 Months in French Oak Barrels with regular batonnage and whole lees. Austere nose. Clear minerality with hints of spices (saffron and nutmeg). Hints of dried fruits, petrol and vegetal notes typical of the region. Creamy and full-bodied mouth, structured and buttery. Long, fresh and extremely mineral end.
5) Bacalhoa Chardonnay 2021 - vivino 4.0
Made from Chardonnay grapes grown within Quinta da Bacalhoa Vineyards in the Peninsula de Setubal region. This wine has become one of our best sellers in Singapore. Partially aged in French Oak gives the complexity. Pale yellow in color, with greenish reflections, a rich aroma of yellow fruits characteristic of the Chardonnay variety, such as peach and pineapple, combined with toasted and vanilla “nuances”, from the contact with French wood. In the mouth, we find strong flavors of yellow fruits well combined with wood, a clear acidity, which gives it a mineral character and a full and persistent finish. With the aging in the bottle, it gains complexity, highlighting notes of dried fruits.
6) Javali Clos da Bonifata White 2018 - vivino 4.1
The Clos Bonifata line demonstrates the purity, respect and uniqueness of the Clos Bonifata terroir, located in Ervedosa do Douro; from the vineyard to the glass. Fully biodynamic oenological processes. Made from Viosinho and Arinto. This wine is aged for 18 months with battonage in a special spherical concrete vat made with vineyard soil. Lemon color with greenish tones. Peculiar nose, marked by floral and granite notes. In the mouth, the acid freshness is in harmony with the minerality of the Clos Bonifata terroir.
