1) Quinta Do Javali Friends to Friends 210 vivino 4.7
Friends-to-Friends is a special project by Quinta do Javali. The wines in this range are aged for 10 years in French Oak prior to release making for a truly unique experience only 1642 bottles produced. Made from 30+ Varietals from old vines of at least 65 years of age. Garnet red, brown halo. there are aromas of black cherry, plum jam, berries, wet earth, leather, with notes of black pepper, cedar, cigar box and cinnamon. The oxidative status of this category of wine gives it an enormous complexity, recognized by most demanding connoisseurs. The structure is magnificent, robust, suggesting a long persistence in the mouth. Significant ability to enhance the aging of this wine, surpassing the 10-15 years.
2) Tapada Do Chaves Old Vines Red 2013 vivino 4.4
Tapada do Chaves is a historic producer of very small quantities, destined to an elite of consumers of rare fine wines. The vines from this wine were planted in 1901 is made from Trincadeira & Grand Noir. 18 months in Portuguese & French Oak barriques. It has a concentrated ruby colour and a very complex aroma, with soft balsamic and notes of woods, with black fruit, rock-rose, earth and a vibrant vegetable. When subject to tasting this is concentrated and deep wine, highly structured, with present and extremely elegant tannins. The fruit, minerality and balanced acidity provide a very long and persistent finish, full of character.
3) Quinta dos Aciprestes Grande Reserva Sousao 2015 vivino 4.6
A powerful red that assembles all the characteristics of this famed varietal allied to the Quinta dos Aciprestes terroir. This variety has been present in the region for many years but very rarely used as a single varietal wine. Aged for 18 months in French Oak. This wine reveals the essence of Sousão through a very deep and profound tint colour, typical of this famed variety. Hints of green combine with fine fruit aromas and classic Sousão tertiary notes of spice and coffee grain, offering immense aromatic complexity. Flavourful, yet smooth on the palate, with vivid yet round tannins and finally characterised but a very lively acidity, which again is typical in Sousão.
4) Quinta Dos Acipreste Grande Reserva 2016 vivino 4.2
The Quinta dos Aciprestes Grande Reserva reflects the best that this famous quinta has to offer. Born in the great vintage of 2007, we seek to produce a wine that will present us with the finest aromatic structure, concentration and complexity. Made from Touriga Nacional & Touriga Franca. It is young and lively, with a beautiful deep garnet colour and a fantastic aromatic complexity of black and red berries with hints of oak from its 18 months ageing in oak. Very balanced and fruitful, with ripe red berry flavours, typical of Quinta dos Aciprestes. Its structure is overwhelming, revealing harmony on the palate yet simultaneously intense, powerful and elegant, resulting in a majestic, everlasting finish.
