With 60 hectares of land and 32 hectares of vineyard, Tapada do Chaves produces different wines that have, however, one thing in common: they all result from the most priviledged Portuguese terroirs.
Tapada do Chaves is a historic producer of very small quantities, destined to an elite of consumers of rare fine wines.
Located at Frangoneiro, at the boarders of Portalegre, in high Alentejo, Tapada do Chaves has two of the oldest Alentejo vineyards - dating back to the 1901 and 1903 - still in production. Wine-producing properties of Alentejo with more then a century of history and rare and Tapada do Chaves it's an unique case in Altentejo.
