Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes 2016
Intro: The 2016 Les Combettes from Domaine Leflaive is considered one of the stronger expressions from this vineyard in the 2016 vintage. The climat “Les Combettes” lies on a gentle slope just south of Domaine Leflaive’s Meursault holdings, planted in 1963 and 1972; making it one of the older vine parcels in Leflaive’s portfolio. Leflaive’s website notes the vinification regime: “Pressurage pneumatique long et doux. Fermentation en fûts de chêne dont 22% sont neufs. Élevage: après 12 mois en fûts, le vin est élevé 6 mois en cuve.” The 2016 yield for this vineyard was low; reports quote 30 hl/ha; contributing to concentration.
