Montrachet Grand Cru 2021
Intro: The 2021 Montrachet Grand Cru from Domaine Etienne Sauzet is reported as a highly promising vintage. The 2021 vintage was extremely limited for the Crus at Sauzet owing to frost and other climatic issues: the producer states that “maybe we’ve lost about 60% [of a normal crop]… the crus delivered between 8 and 15 hl/ha” in 2021. For the Grand Crus the estate uses 40% new oak for élevage.

Full bodied and concentrated, it balances taut acidity with a pronounced mineral backbone and seamlessly integrated oak. The finish is long, crystalline, and powerful. Marked by tension, orchard fruit, and exceptional terroir expression. A muscular, precise Montrachet built to age effortlessly for decades
