Meursault Desiree 2017
Intro: The 2017 Meursault “Désirée” from Domaine des Comtes Lafon is a white Burgundy from Chardonnay, produced from the replanted “Désirée” parcel in Meursault (replanted around 2008). The “Désirée” parcel is historic: the name comes from an old cadastral name which ceased to be used in 1973, but the estate is authorised to continue using it. The parcel was completely replanted (2008) and this bottling shows that the younger vines are starting to express the site’s potential. Unlike many of the estate’s other Meursault bottlings, the Désirée cuvée is noted for being somewhat more accessible earlier, while still retaining refinement.
