Marquis de Laguiche Montrachet Grand Cru 2000
Intro: The 2000 vintage of the Marquis de Laguiche Montrachet Grand Cru is a composed, elegant and highly regarded white Burgundy from one of the most prestigious parcels in the Côte de Beaune. The parcel “Marquis de Laguiche” is the largest single holding of the grand cru Montrachet Grand Cru (2.06 ha) and has been in the hands of the Laguiche family since 1776, the vineyard lying entirely on the Puligny Montrachet side. Despite being nearly 25 years old, the 2000 vintage is described in some vertical tastings as “surprisingly youthful” for a white Burgundy of such age.

Tasting Notes: The 2000 Marquis de Laguiche Montrachet Grand Cru, Joseph Drouhin shows a golden hue with notes of honeyed apricot, hazelnut, grilled almond, exotic fruit, and a saline minerality. Medium to full bodied with lively acidity, layered orchard fruit, toasted nuts, and chalky depth. The finish is long, refined, and elegant. Showing Montrachet’s hallmark finesse, balance, and enduring complexity
