Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2020

Intro: This 2020 Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru from Domaine Bonneau du Martray is described by critics as “bright and concentrated, with terrific depth” showing aromas of crisp pear, nectarine, white flowers, honey, nutmeg and mint. The Domaine Bonneau du Martray is one of the very few estates that produce only Grand Cru wines (both for white and red) from their own holdings. The vineyard of Corton Charlemagne encompasses parcels from both “En Charlemagne” and “Le Charlemagne” and for this 2020 vintage the blend was about 35% from En Charlemagne and 65% from Le Charlemagne. The vines are farmed biodynamically and the terroir is west/south west facing on the hill of Corton, giving freshness despite the richness of the vintage.
