Chablis 1er Cru Foret 2019
Intro: This 2019 “Forêt” from Domaine François Raveneau is a Premier Cru Chablis that showcases the seriousness, minerality and ageing potential typical of the estate. The “Forêt” (or “La Forêt”) climat sits on deeper soils on the western side of the Serein river in Chablis, giving this cuvée a slightly richer and more clay inflected character than some other Raveneau vineyards.

Tasting Notes: The 2019 Chablis 1er Cru Forêt, François Raveneau shows a pale lemon gold hue. The nose opens with white flowers, green apple, pear, citrus peel, and a chalky seashell minerality. The palate is medium to full bodied, taut and fresh, with bright acidity, orchard and citrus fruit, and a fine, mineral driven texture. The finish is long, saline, and precise; youthfully firm but built to age gracefully
