Cristal 2008

Intro: The newly born Cristal 2008 comes to us with a patient heart, full of promise. It has been shaped by time and by its unique chalky soils and is now ready for us to enjoy after ten years of ageing. Cristal was originally created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II of Russia, who demanded the world’s first prestige cuvée in a clear crystal bottle.

Grapes: Pinot Noir 60% and Chardonnay 40%

Aging: Aged for 10 years in the cool, dark chalk cellars of the House

ABV: 12% || Decant: 15 minutes || Serving Temp: 10–12°C

Pairing: Caviar, lobster, scallops, Dover sole, fine poultry with cream sauce, aged Comte cheese

Tasting Notes: The 2008 Cristal delivers profound complexity with aromas of confit citrus, pear, dried apricot, and toasted brioche. Layers of hazelnut, almond, honey, and chalky minerality add refinement. The palate is creamy with fine mousse, structured yet elegant, leading to a long, saline, and energetic finish.
