Tignanello 2018
Intro: Tignanello 2018 stands as one of the most iconic Super Tuscan wines produced by the legendary Marchesi Antinori. First introduced in the early 1970s, Tignanello revolutionized Italian winemaking by blending Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, breaking traditional DOC regulations. The 2018 vintage delivers the estate’s hallmark balance of structure, freshness, and complexity, expressing the terroir of the Tignanello vineyard, located in the heart of Chianti Classico between the Greve and Pesa valleys. Tignanello was the first Sangiovese wine aged in barriques and also among the first red wines from Chianti Classico to include non traditional grape varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc). This innovation helped inspire the entire “Super Tuscan” movement.
