Sassicaia 2020
Intro: The 2020 Sassicaia from Tenuta San Guido stands out as a vintage of elegance, depth and great ageing potential. Located in Bolgheri on the Tuscan coast, the estate has crafted a wine which balances power and finesse. According to the official producer profile, the soils are complex; rich in limestone, marl and pebbles; and the season demanded attention to detail in the vineyard and cellar. The 2020 vintage of Sassicaia uses the subtitle “La Proporzione” at the estate to highlight the focus on the perfect balance of fruit, tannin, acidity and oak. Even if not always printed on the label. While not publicly on all releases, the theme has been referenced in interviews with the estate’s team.
