Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru Chenevery 2018
Intro: The 2018 Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru Chênevery delivers a deep, youthfully reserved bouquet of dark cherries, black berries, rich soil tones, and hints of dark chocolate and warm spice. On the palate it is medium to full bodied, layered, with fine grained tannins, lively acidity, and a long mineral rich finish. Many critics regard this bottling as one of Domaine Hubert Lignier’s best for the vintage. The vineyard name “Chênevery” (also spelled Chenevery) refers to a lesser known climat in Morey Saint Denis which lies on thin soils just beneath the slope of Clos de la Roche; wines from this vineyard often show both Morey’s depth and a hint of the mineral intensity of Clos de la Roche.

Tasting Notes: The 2018 Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru Chenevery, Hubert Lignier reveals aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, violets, forest floor, dark chocolate, and warm spice. Medium to full bodied, it balances plush fruit with fine tannins and bright acidity, supported by a stony mineral backbone. The finish is long, elegant, and precise. Showing tension and clarity over richness
