Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru 2016
Intro: This 2016 Mazis Chambertin from Tawse is a very strong expression of the upper slope terroir of the Grand Cru in the Gevrey Chambertin appellation. The Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard is one of the most northerly grands crus in the Côte de Nuits region, and its wines from Tawse are made from old vine parcels (e.g., around 85 years old for one reference in the 2016) in the “Petits Mazis” section. The estate, formerly Domaine Maume before acquisition by Canadian Moray Tawse, works with renowned vigneron/consultant Pascal Marchand.
