It represents an accessible yet high-quality entry into Mortet’s terroir-driven Pinot Noir spectrum, blending fruit and finesse, with vineyards drawn from several lieu-dits in the southern part of the appellation. The cuvée “Ma Cuvée” is composed of several small parcels (lieux-dits) spread across the southern Gevrey-Chambertin appellation, and these represent some of the vineyards just below the Grands Crus, giving a taste of the terroir without the full Grand Cru price tag. Arnaud Mortet created his own label after taking over from his father (the famed Denis Mortet estate) and this wine gives a nice entry point into that lineage of Gevrey-Chambertin expertise.
