Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley 'Monopole' Grand Cru 2020
Intro: The 2020 Clos des Cortons Faiveley is the flagship red Grand Cru of the Domaine Faiveley estate, a monopole vineyard they have owned since 1874. The vineyard “Clos des Cortons Faiveley” is one of only two Burgundian Grand Crus to bear the name of their owner (the other being Romanée Conti). The vineyard is a monocle (monopole) of the Domaine Faiveley family and covers approximately 2.76 ha (6.83 acres) according to the estate. The soils are ferruginous oolites and marls, rich in iron oxide, giving the wine its signature mineral/graphite character.

Full bodied and concentrated yet refined, it shows a core of dark and red fruits framed by firm, polished tannins, fresh acidity, and an iron tinged mineral texture. The finish is long, powerful, and precise. Combining elegance, depth, and structure for decades of graceful ageing
