Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Cuvee Vieilles Vignes 2014
Intro: This is a Grand Cru red from the historic Clos de Vougeot appellation produced by Domaine Ponsot. The 2014 Cuvée Vieilles Vignes shows an opaque, inky colour, with a rich nose of cassis, plum, sandalwood, spice and earth. Domaine Ponsot’s “Vieilles Vignes” bottling comes from very old vines in plots of Clos de Vougeot. According to review notes, this wine is described as “so deeply coloured that it’s opaque” which is a striking statement for Pinot Noir from Burgundy.
