Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru 2021
Intro: The 2021 vintage of this Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru is described as medium-bodied yet layered, with aromas of raspberries, cassis, forest floor, espresso toast, spices and orange zest. It has “a broad, saline, peony-inflected finish”. However, critics note that it is still tight and closed, with reduction lingering on the nose, and will need time to open up. Claude Dugat manages tiny vineyard strips, sometimes measured in just fractions of a hectare, and his entire production of Grand Cru from this site is extremely limited; making each bottle highly sought and collectible.
