Merlot|Red|2018|Portugal Setubal|ViV 4.1
Intro: Bacalhoa is the name of the palace where the vines for this wine is grown. When we tried this wine, we immediately knew it was coming with us, it has been described as rivaling a more expensive left bank Bordeaux by our wine community in Singapore.
Region: Peninsula de Setubal | Winery: Bacalhoa
Grapes: Merlot
Aging: 18 months in New French Oak Barrels
ABV: 14% | Decant: 1hr | Serving Temp: 16-18 °C
Pairing: Red Meats, Cheese, Italian dishes
Tasting Notes:
With an intense red color, it has notes of red fruit, such as cherry and plum combined with "nuanes" of chocolate, mocha coffee and spices; in the mouth it is full, with ripe fruit combined with fine and elegant but firm tannins that give it a complex and very persistent structure. This wine has an excellent bottle aging potential.
